Boards weren’t much wider than the final product, so if I were to cut all the way down through the material leaving tabs as you’d normally do, I’d be cutting into the clamps. Instead I cut down to a few mm above the clamps, rough cut on the bandsaw, then used a trim bit on the router table to make the sides flush. Similarly if I were to do the chamfer on the bottom on the CNC, I’d have had to flip my piece, which would take some calculation and extra effort, so I just used a chamfer bit and the router table again.
The brown bit is a patch I did as I had some tear out.
