CNC Bits

on the big CNC I am struggling to match the available CNC bits to what I find in the tool database…
for example I have tried to find the 6mm endmills (green and red)

and figured it must be T23 as its the only 4 flute endmill - but I stopped my trial run with MDF because the feed rate (1500mm/min) seemed too slow and the spindle speed (18000) seemed to high

Am I missing something?
And the brand new V bits 5,7,8mm in the picture on the left - which ones are those in the database?
Sorry, I am sure I am missing something…

Lastly: in the MDF category in the tools db - no bit seems available… Do I just use the Hardwood category? But shouldnt the default settings be different for MDF / hardwood
Thanks!

Best to direct this to @CNCtechs….

So… Green is the apt compression end mill

Red is t23

Blue left is not set yet

Blue right it apt end mill 8mm

Plunge tools are not vbits but drill bits according to their diameter

For the mdf, you are right but we haven’t set the tools for mdf, we are still using the hardwood settings… It’s in the list of things to do

Thank you - is there anything I can help, like number or colour code the bits in the db and in real life? Let me know.

Can you help me understand?

Sorry… Re-reading what i written it doesn’t make sense. Let me try again… So: “those on the left are drill bits ( some call plunge tools) and not V-bits.
There are listed in the db according to their diameter and they are in a different subgroup ( if i remember correctly is the last group under ‘metric’).”

In my mind i wrote all above in the first attempt but clearly my fingers haven’t followed.

For MDF, you should be able to find correct speeds and feeds on the APT page for that endmill. Look up model number see e.g. here: https://www.shop-apt.co.uk/2-flute-down-cut-carbide-routers-for-wood-mdf/6mm-diameter-2-flute-down-cut-carbide-router-slot-drill-for-wood-mdf-etc-17mm-flute-length.html

1500 mm/min is way too slow for MDF! A correct feed setting would be more like 14000-15000 mm/min (Speeds are often the same, feeds are around 35% faster). Did you perhaps get 15000 from somewhere and made a typo noting it down?

we cannot run a 15000 feed rate. Mdf cuts need to adapt to the machine specs. As i remember max feed rate set is 3500mm/min.
I had perfect cuts with 2300 to be honest
