Hi, I would like some advice. I want to put a desk in an alcove in my flat, but it isn’t standard size. Should I buy a desk and cut it down. Is that essy, will it ruin the desk?

depends on the desk really, im no woodworker, so… ya know… not expert here.
however ive noticed desks dont usually have a solid material, typically a bit of cardboard or whatever.
so that’s probably worth being aware of.
As mentioned, depends on the material of the desk. If it’s solid wood, you’re fine, though the cut edges will be missing finish. However, most desktops out there are something like veneered MDF - the cut edge will look bad, up to you if that’s something g you can cover or not
