Bowl Coring System - Pledge Drive

@turners who’s keen on aiming to aquire one of these for the space?

Basically a fancy tool that allows you to cut out a bowl from within a bowl rather than a cubic meter of shavings. Sorry @SarahJ:wink:

£320 from Axminster, to get the ball rolling I’ll put in £30.

Jonty - £30
Daniel - £5
Frank - £5
Pip - £20
PeteH - 20
Electronoob - £10 - just so I can say I helped to get the bowl rolling.
Afshind £10
Petra £ 5
Tom Hedges £30

Running Total: £135

I highly recommend using the first post as a wiki to record pledges or they become a pain to keep track of…

I do this how?

Click the spanner at the bottom of the post and Make Wiki

EDIT: I see you figured it out already

Yes I know I’m a very punny man.

@Jonty_Bottomley I cheekily suggest you ask @directors for the remaining 2/3 now that 1/3 has been reached!

Bump… I reckon we want at least halfway before the space matches.

Also we need to hear from @lathetechs before buying stuff for the larhe

If there is demand then go for it. Only thing I know is that you have to have a large enough piece of stock to make coring it worthwhile. But if enough people are wanting to use it then that’s fine and dandy.

Fyi it looks like you also need to get a £32 toolpost to sit in the saddle to use this

The coring system is now over £500, what a bummer.

Dang!

Ebay?

Same price. This thing is banging, I’ll see if i spot it elsewhere and hopefully by then we’ll have enough bowl turners to run a pledge drive.

We have aroumd a houndered more wood turners. The possibility of reaching that bar is not impossible!

Will it work our lathe?

Ask Axminster to donate and be a sponsor? Worth a try - no?
