Would it be possible to purchase some/a set of bottom bracket tools? The three or four I’ve seen in the space all seem to be on the larger size. I think we have two tooth counts though.
Hey, we’d be happy to purchase one/some.
I’ll look into it or wait for my co-techs to chime in, as it’s not something I’m familiar with. However, ~£8 each for the x3 other sizes seems fine.
I’d be happy to explore more bb tool options. As long as they’re not a niche or silly expensive item, I think the area would benefit. What tool do you need, or which bb do you have? We’ve had a handful of Shimano tools split in half through cack-handed use, but last time I checked we had a decent assortment.
There was a blue plastic and black rubber strap wrench at one point. I think I last saw it in Dec. ‘25. Something from O&G industry would definitely generate enough torque without breaking, but you’d be pressed to get eg 40Nm through an economical one without the rubber loosing grip or the tool breaking. In an emergency you could always MacGyver a strap wrench with an inner tube, some leather from textiles, and a bar from wood or metal shops.
