As per the latest Members’ Meeting, habemus bike zone!
What: A foldaway worktop, antifatigue floor approx 2m^2), a pegboard along the wall for the tools, containers with small parts and ancillaries, 2x folding bike stands, wheel truing stand. Basically, a well-organised, safe and comfortable place to work on a bike or two.
Where: Arch 1, along the wall between the electric fuse boxes and the front door.
@charlesmein, here’s the list you produced from the last tool audit. It would be worth having another go through, as some tools have been removed without a trace (Lezyne multi tool, various Allen keys).
Tools:
-X2 Bike work stands
-X1 Wheel truing stand
-X3 chain whip
-X1 cassette wrench
-X1 Shimano BB tool
-X1 chain tool
-X2 crank pullers
-Various wrenches
-Old spoke key
-Allen key incomplete set but enough for most bike applications
-Spanners incomplete set but enough for most bike applications
-Chain wear gauge
Sounds really cool. I am more than willing to volunteer to help with this in some way. I don’t have extensive technical skills but can certainly labour.
We should already have more than enough flooring available in terms of the rubber matting in the metal area. This was bought as anti fatigue flooring initially for my work. Should also be non slip and chemical resistant as well if memory serves. If needed I can find the spec sheet.
