Hi Everyone
what’s the best glue for fixing on laptop case plastic?
is there any at the space?
Thanks
Most laptop plastic will be ABS so I will use either
- Acetone to weld the part together it take a bit of practice to get it right and it work best if you make ABS glue view https://www.matterhackers.com/news/how-to-make-abs-juice-glue-and-slurry
- Cyanoacrylate (super glue medium or thick thin will be too runny) with kicker/activator/accelerator (really important to use kicker for the best bond) there is also Non whitening cyano that will avoid the plastic around the seams turning white but if you use the right amount of glue and kicker I usually avoid white marking.

Hopefully that help you a bit
Amazing reply.
It’s actually to reseat 2 tiny brass grip nuts through hinge into lid.
It’s either glue, but would it ever hold?
Or a bodge with tiny holes and longer low-profile screws and nuts with maybe a small black cover to hide it on the outside.
I’ll upload some photos later
It’s not a Lenovo, is it? Same thing happened to mine
I had exactly the same issue but I found a 3D pen injection through the metal plate into the broken/shattered section where the brass used to live enabled me to screw in wood screws once I drilled a small diameter pilot hole. I brought my own 3D pen in for this but I think SLMS has one too. If not I can lend you mine.

Same thing happened to my Lenovo - sensing a theme! Fixed it by reattaching the nuts using epoxy thickened with flour as a filler, has held up fine since.
Unfortunately I managed to crack my screen before I got a repair in place
Thanks for all the great advice.
It is a Lenovo. I bought it like that because I got a bargain. T430 for £70.
I have to get some heatsink thermal paste first as I had to clean the fan and had to half dismantle it to get there
Thanks @alanmakestuff that’s great. I’ll probably try that as it will look better than my last resort of bolting through to the back of the lid
