Any ideas?
It would need to be a fairly even radius as it’s a project to make handrails for a bench, so must be presentable
I plan to fill the copper with sand + cement or something to strengthen it later

EDIT: I want to create two semicircles of copper tube, and ideally do it on site with the youth group
My pipe bender should do that
Will try it tomorrow

I think a normal pipe bender has a smaller radius than that

Fill with sand and then bend it around something suitably sized

I know that method, but not sure it would be achievable to get it even. Have you tried this?

But can’t you just part bend it a few times?
Everything I know involving DIY came from watching videos online, I seldom actually put those things into action.

Not if you want a perfect 180 degree semicircle 20cm high 40cm wide

I would laser cut a piece of 6mm ply to 20cm radius, and one to 22cm
Use these as templates to cut with bearing guided cutter 3 pieces of 18mm mdf. (1x 20 cm 2x 22cm)
Sandwich the smaller and the 30cm template between the two bigger ones
Firm the copper pipe around this former!

Sorry my pipe bender is about 200mm diameter
Will have a play around tomorrow
How about 3/4" pipe much thicker wall
At my mums at the moment will see if i can find a bending spring
If not.
Talow is the traditional lube for spring bending.
But if you’re not putting drinking water down it engin oil or lithium greas shood be ok
