Hi @woodtechs! Would I be able to be inducted on the bandsaw please?
I’m thinking of coming to the space Tuesday evening (6th) after work, or possibly the following Wednesday evening (14th) if either of those would work?

I’m out this week but should be able to make the 14th. Please read the material on the tool page ahead of time.
Hey Max, oh amazing thanks! Is it possible to get inducted on the table saw at the same time? Just thinking, two birds and all that
Yeah no problem. Make sure to study up on the tool page and take the quiz and the assessments can go quickly
Do you mind if I join at the same time Max? Happy to compensate for your time!
Not sure how many people can hop on before it’s a bit prohibitive, but I’m keen to join for this as well if possible!
Yeah no problem. Just as a reminder, for the wood shop tools not covered by the basic induction, it’s not the traditional SLMS induction format, more so you giving me a review that you’re aware of the safety rules/policies, an opportunity to ask questions, and you demonstrating safe technique. They can go pretty quickly so just catch me when I’m in.
Can I also join the induction to wood workshop tools? What time would you be aiming for on the 14th?
As a bit of background, I have made stuff with table saw, baby bandsaw, mitre saw and circular saw elsewhere.
Is there any chance I can also get an induction to CNC machine? I’ve just signed up so if there are other things I need to do before jumping in, please let me know.
Hi Steph
every new member needs to do the basic wood shop induction first. After the basic machines like the bandsaw, tablesaw etc are ad hoc you read through the toolpage, do the test and then meet up with the inductor.
The CNC is a different induction you can find the list here. You do the Mini CNC first.
Hi Karin,
Do you mean I need to put my name down on that list for the next woodshop induction and then after I can post here (or make post like this) for adhoc induction to the usage of saws? I have read the page, did the test and got all answers correct.
Hi Steph,
You are all set up for the basic induction, as you added your name to the main list. Inductors will use this list when running basic inductions, and you will be automatically notified. You can then confirm whether you are able to attend. After completing the basic induction, simply review the tool page for the specific machine you wish to use, complete the test, and the inductors will contact you. Please bear with us, as we are currently in the holiday season and many people are away.
If you’ve had the basic induction and feel prepared to demonstrate that you understand the safe use of the tool you’d like to get signed off on, then by all means
Thank you.
Let us know at what time would you like us to be there.
@mbg Apologies, some stuff came up tonight and I wasn’t able to complete the table saw quiz ahead of time. Is it still alright for me to do the induction and complete it after, or does it strictly need to be done before?
For the bandsaw, can I clarify if there is a quiz? I couldn’t seem to find one
@mbg I have done the table saw and hand held router assessment online, and I couldn’t find a link to the band saw assessment but have read through the materials thoroughly. If you are still around for today I can be around from 4:30pm onwards, and I am not expecting to be inducted in all of these. Thanks!
Bandsaw quiz is not up yet, just make sure to understand safe usage and the rules first. The quiz should take about a minute if you’re ready to take an assessment.
Have an internet engineer coming today, but I should be there late afternoon/early evening. If you’re ready for the assessment it shouldn’t take very long to get you signed off on all.
