BTW it’s an Arduino 101 workshop?
Arduino day Admin discussion
Yes, beginners guide to Arduino for newbies
Courty
No, forgot they had a 101 board
More a get you started, into to, first steps type of think. No funky Intel chips or arm processors, just the good old 328p

We need to get some of these filled in and printed…and put up around Herne Hill?
I can try to do this tomorrow when I get home.

Let us know if you need table space. Or anything else.
Being in the Space by 1.30 or earlier will ensure we get space allocated. I’ll likely be there after breakfast…
I’ve tweeted/forumed widely among the London Arduino, NodeBot, OSHUG, MusicHackspace etc crowd. So we will likely get quite a few out of the blue projects on the day too.
Website for one of our guests, Michele: http://www.michelepanegrossi.com/
He’s bringing his prototype light-choreographing bots to showcase.
What needs getting or doing? We stayed very late last night, and I’ve just woken up.
These are a few ‘provocations’ off the top of my head. Take/leave/add or better them…
-
A clean hand towel for washroom
-
Put signs out, with Genuino posters stapled on. By 1PM so ‘exhibitors’ can find us?
-
Front windows need a good clean inside and out and ‘curating’…making an attractive display.
-
Risk assess all areas and activities. Doesn’t need to be OTT, but two people going around, thinking and making notes of what needs to fixed or mitigated. Consumer unit was flagged up last night for example. We have loads of hazard tape in the Snug. so there can be an element of fun?
-
Get phase 1 as clutter free as possible.
-
As much table space created as possible. We don’t know who will turn up! This includes all available tables and work benches.
-
Designating areas. Where is best for ‘Arduino for Beginners’ class? @courty?
-
set aside a refreshments area. Get refreshments. Needs a sign for suggested donations???
-
Make a shopping list. Avoids dozens of trips. If we need last minute Maplin stuff we need to know early.
-
Badges? @tobyspark @JackieO
-
???
EDIT:
- finish partitioning off areas in Wet and Noisy rooms.
- Clean the hell out of Phase one. We can leave guests with cleaning bills simply because they sat on one of our chairs.
- rubbish out to pile by Chabeb’s van
- Find the bleedin TV stand! Anyone know where this is ‘stored’? We looked for quite a while yesterday. @unknowndomain ? Was there a place chosen when TV went on wall? “Tidying things away randomly, is more correctly termed hiding” -anon
@joeatkin2 and I are already here. Just finishing a few bits and in cleaning / tidying… Anyone who’s about and free is more than welcome to pop in and help
Courty
On my way in now, should be there in 20.
Also need a newsletter sign up sheet.
This is pretty important!
Amazing work in preparing the space for Arduino Day and continuing construction…
Sockets in the Dusty Workshop are working on this temporary Consumer Unit.
They’ve got the Fire Exit installed and the panic bar in place with door closer.
The Dusty Workshop air filter fan controller is ready for it’s fan and filter.
The glazing between the Clean and Messy spaces has been fitted, the doors hung and the door closers fitted.
Things are already hotting up, it’s much busier now, 29 31 32 people in the space right now!
What a tremendous effort that must have been
You know I quite like the half blocks, half birch wall.
I especially like the way the space opens up along the entrance axis.
Wow, just seen pics on Twitter. What a turn out!
The half and half would be fine if the finish on the wall was nice, but it’s really rough.
What a great day. Well done to all involved, which was barely me.
Have updated Flickr from discourse, and am just uploading my shots now…
It all looks absolutely amazing. I love the doors, the glazing around the doors and I also love the half rough blocks half sleek ply look. Industrial design statement. I’m so impressed by how hard you have all worked to get to this point, and it looks like it was a great event.
Finally uploaded. I need internet like we have in the space!
