I would like to build a rigid frame using aluminium extrusions and would appreciate some pointers about joints, sizes, where to buy etc.

I suppose it depends on the strength requirements of the application.
It seems lego-ish in construction.

Yes, there are a few different variants, which makes googling it a bit less straightforward. T-slot, V-slot, extrusion, etc. No doubt there is a guide out there somewhere. I will take a look.

Just to note, that there are in various caches around the space, bits of alu extrusion . These are the CNC Router!
