Any Shelly smart home peeps out there?

I’ve been playing with some Shelly dimmers and wall switches in my house and have been encountering resistance! wondering if there are any Shelly users on the forum?

Did you go for the modules that require a neutral line? My other half is the one who does more of this kinda thing, but I know that’s what we used in a couple of places.

The lights in the metal area and woodshop area are powered by Shelly PIR lights but they caused a lot of problems. I’m not even sure who has control over them but maybe @asander1 knows who installed them?

@lewisss and @joeatkin2 may be able to help?

Yep give me a shout Matt, I have a bit of experience

This might help as well

Oh wow, so a bunch of people! Some questions / issues on both installation and then coding / setting actions. Any help much appreciated.

Installation:
(Issue 1) I have three Dimmer 2s wired up (no neutrals). One has 6*5watt bulbs on the other end and has been reliable. The other two I wired with bypasses to use with low watt bulbs. Neither of the ones with bypass have worked very well, one seemed to blow it and I now have it on an old 40w temporarily working like a champ. The other works, but cuts out sometimes whilst it still thinks its on. I wired the bypass into the live and neutral terminals at the pendant, is that correct? I’m thinking I might solve the issue by putting in 12w LEDs which I’m hoping wont be too bright in the kitchen. Any other things to try?

(Issue 2) I’m using shelly wall switches and they’re a bit too small to work properly with standard metal back boxes (who designed them!?). Any tips for something I can buy / make to get them sitting nicely level with the wall and not trying to pull into the back box?

Coding / actions
(Issue 3) For two of them, I’m essentially trying to use them to create two way switching. At location A I have a dimmer and a two gang wall switch, same at B. I want the left switch of A to control A, right B and the same at location B. I’ve got one of them working sort of the way I want using the default behaviour on button 1 and a toggle action on 2, really I’d want the switches the other way around but I cant work out how!? (maybe I need to swap the switch wires and go again?). The other one I cant get play ball despite being set up essentially the same

(Issue 4) not essential but if somebody likes this stuff… I’d like to code the fourth button connected to an I4 to control all the lights together, and then on a different action (e.g. double press) set all of them to a moody pre set dim. I also have some code I’m using (found online) to replicate the actions of a dimmer, it mostly works apart from sometimes it gets the dim direction wrong so doesn’t do anything. If anybody is interested in this stuff I’d love to share the code and get some advice
