Any cosplayers in this group?

Hello!
I’m working on a concept for a wooden light (I know quite the leap from cosplayers to wooden lights but go with me)
Has anyone had any experience in making invisible eye holes in costumes, I’m thinking like Silent Hill pyramid head, how do cosplayers who make that see out of the pyramid? I think I can apply some of these designs to invisible holes in my lights, but if you have any experience or know someone that has experience in making ‘invisible’ eye holes in cosplays/costumes please let me know!

I’m one of the cosplayers at the space.
The last time I had to do something like that was for a helmet, and I ended up doing it by using a tinted plastic visor. See the gif below, it hid my eyes OK and light was able to shine through it, if that’s what you’re trying to do.

As I understand it, others have used a fabric or plastic mesh. There’s a pic of an eye on a fursuit below which shows what I mean, you should be able to get something black off the shelf which should work.

Thank you Billy, yes I was thinking of going down a mesh route, but very much open to any other ideas!

Thin plywood (aeroply) is a bit translucent. Two layers isn’t, so a laser cut inner part and a continuous outer part looks quite cool.

Good idea!
