Angle grinder drill bit adaptor

Hi,

having used an angle grinder drill bit adaptor on a mushroom growing course at an amazing place in Walthamstow I’m going to make one.

The original is Japanese and about £40

My current work around is M10 thread drill chuck and an M10 to M14 adaptor from China totalling about £10

Or buy a right angle drill

All I would say is be careful about max RPM of the chuck - assume it’s a variable speed grinder as most drill chucks can’t handle the 8kRPM of a grinder at full speed…

Also - what kind of mushrooms you trying to grow? I have been unsuccessfully attempting to propogate oysters on oak lathe turnings.

An angle drill is still a low speed

Oyster are the easiest. You grow mycelium and the mushrooms are a happy accident which can be encouraged

I could do workshop?

It’s for a large small fat wood drill bit for putting loads of dowels in wet wood and takes about 2 secs per hole. I was surprised that in this specific application it was remarkably safe with correct PPE

Would LOVE a mushroom growing workshop! Yeah that’s what I heard - unfortunately mould seems to overtake most of mine.
