The metalshop metal shop
As part of a trial there has been some aluminium stock added to the metalshop that is available for purchase. The link to purchase it is here: Aulminium 1 inch Round Bar – South London Makerspace
If you want to use a piece, please purchase it online and then help yourself
Regardless of how much of the stock you use, please don’t put it back in that cubby, that should exclusively be for untouched stock (note the red ends), any leftover is yours to keep, or add to the collection of odds and ends available to others
Currently there are pieces of 1 inch x 200mm aluminium 6082 round bar
The odds and ends above are still free and available. But in the interest of having some known good stock of reasonable length, a trial is being run with these.#

I know there might be some questions so to pre-answer a couple that I might have posed
“I can get stock cheaper than this online”
Yup, please feel free to, this is meant to be here for convenience and for people who might not want to do a whole large metal order and want to avoid paying delivery
“How about some steel, or 2 inch stock”
There’s a desire to have more stock in the future. This is being trialled to see if there’s interest, and to test how it runs. If there are particular materials/sizes people want, that would be useful to know, but there won’t be orders placed in the immediate future until we see how this runs
