Hey, Im interested in learning how to 3dprint and mod Nerf guns,
Does anybody know if there is an existing comunity for this in or around the space?
I know SLMS has some drone hobbiests and that theres some overlap there ā¦
I only have basic electronics and 3d printing skills and have not done anything as sophisticated as this before but I really wanna push myself to learn the skills neccesary to do so.
Would greatly apreciate any words of advice, learning resources or assistance anyone is willing to offer .
Particuarly on good places to source the neccseary hardware screws, springs etc.
My Intended projects:
My end Goal is to 3d print myself 2 types of nerf gun.
-
A full-auto flywheel blaster with brushless motors.
Ideally working up to being able to add some kind of fire selection features like choosing between max wheel speed between shots and maximum rate of fire. -
A springer sniper optimised for range.
Currently I have a few parts on the way, A worker swordfish shell and full auto kit that I thought I might try to get working with the brushless motors and some 3d printed/aluminum flywheels first.
Perhaps using This as a starting point.
I also learned about the Open Source FDL-3 Design which I am thinking I might base the desgin of blaster 1 on.
However, I have heard that It is nolonger supported and so would be open to other suggestions or advice as to what would be a good project to follow that Im less likely to get stuck on .
