A new stool for the 🪵 workshop

Tags: #<Tag:0x00007fa4a5d305a8>

Hello fellow Makers!
I’m happy to say that I finished upgrading one of the stools in the wood workshop today and wanted to share some thoughts of the experience. I’m also keen to hear how you like sitting on it, feedback welcome!

First of all a big thanks to @dannz who came up with the idea to use CNC rather than hand moulding the seat.
So that’s what I did: found a seat file online for free and a piece of thrown away wood (kitchen desktop apparently) and had the CNC cut the shape.
It then needed sanding, chiselling and tidying up, which was good fun doing by hand.

Pictures below for context… before, after, after oiling and with dear Richard to proof it can carry weight (his words).
