I fixed the lateral adjuster of the 4 1/2 handplane (the one that’s short but wider than the others) on Monday evening and left it out for the loctite to cure.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to come back to the space yesterday evening to reassemble it as I’d intended and won’t be back until January.
Could someone do me a favour and put it back together and on the shelf for me please. I’ve left it on the wooden planes above the mitre saw.
The red glue squeeze out around the lateral adjuster might need a bit of cleaning up with some sandpaper, and then it just need the iron and chip breaker to be put back on. I left them taped to the body. If you could give it a quite try to see if my repair was successful and the lateral adjustment works that would be great.
