3d printing on open night - Wednesday 24th June

Im on the rota for open night next week. Wednesday the 24th.
I thought we might like to theme it a bit on 3d printing.
So Ill be bringing along my machine and will try and find something interesting to print.

Does anybody else fancy joining in?

I’m going to try to come down with my parts to attempt to start a new printer

Ill bring along the P3 steel frame as well.
I havnt done anything with it yet, but its an impressive lump of metal.

Right, who else is coming to open night to play with 3d printers?
I thought id bring some ninjaflex or a sample of semiflex to print with.
I can bring some Nylon if anyone wants to see it. Ill have to pre dry it in the oven, so if anyones interested ill bring some down.

Any body else got any requests or particular interests for tomorrow?

Ninjaflex’s new semi flex.
A watch strap for a pebble watch or any watch that takes a 22mm pin.

@Dermot Did you need a new strap for Lucas?

I think semiflex would work in the ultimaker.
Its 2.85mm and stiff enough to work on a bowden setup.

Yes, his strap is held with gaffer tape at the moment.

He could customise it.

I’m going to try and come down. Will do some more stuff on the Ultimaker. Would be cool to try the semi-flex @gordonendersby if you have some spare.

Im sure i could spare a meter or two.
Ive had a sort out of the samples ive got and will bring a few down for others to try.
Ill put them in the 3d printer box with the others.

I’m ordering a bunch of PLA and will replace some of the stuff from the box I’ve used.

Not too many 3d printers running last night but it was pretty busy with visitors and at least 2 people signed up.
Peter and I were printing.

and a lot of visitors were shown around the arch.
Lots of interest in the Ultimaker 2 as a members resource.
A few of the visitors were interested in joining so they could print there own stuff.
