Hi everyone! I’m new here, and I am interested in purchasing a membership for the makerspace. I would like to do 3D printing, and it’s sort of an urgent project that needs to be 3D printer by Sunday at most, so I was wondering what kind of 3D printers are available! This is a project for a uni assignment, and the file is ready for 3D printing!
Welcome!
Just to flag though, as a 100% volunteer-run Space we have safety inductions and onboarding before using equipment, so it’s very unlikely you’d be able to get onto the printers that quickly (there is a queue).
The Space also isn’t really set up for urgent, deadline-driven work. It could still be a good fit for future projects, but for this weekend you might want to look at faster turnaround options that are commercial entities.
Cheers,
Andy
Hi Andy,
Thank you for your respose! I would still like to pay for membership because I need access to 3d printing projects. Would you know if the process is as simple as paying for the membership and being able to access the machines immediately, or is there some sort of onboarding?
Ah I misread the response! Would there be space for safety inductions and onboarding by the end of the week or by mid-next-week?
Probably not. Remember we’re volunteers. This is not a place for urgency.
There’s an open evening tonight, your best bet is to come to that and ask questions there.
Ah fantastic! Would you know what time is it happening, and if a booking is required?
7-9PM, no booking necessary. See here for more details:
