Hi all! I’m not sure if this is the right place to be sending out messages but i’ll be in the makerspace for the first time as a member today around 6:45. I’ll be working on 3d printing a part for my hoover (photos attached below). I have zero technical ability and have no idea how hard this task will be. If you’re in today and have the time to show me some of the basics, it’d mean the world.
Sounds like you are at the beginning of a long (but very satisfying journey)…
There are definitely several members who can help you with parts of the journey.
If there is a downloadable model of the part, then you can proceed to print.
You could look on http://yeggi.com/
If not, you would have to design the part first.
Designing a part would require 3D design skills and some time (probably many hours).
If you don’t have the 3D design skills, then you are looking at quite a steep learning path before you can get to the design.
Either way, once you have the 3D file, you’ll need an induction on the 3D printer before you are able to use it.
You’ll need to add your name to the waiting list here: 3D Printer Induction Waiting List
