Hello all,

It might be slightly out of date, but ask any questions…
Cheers
Thank you, Andy, but this part is clear.
There is another booking for Saturday, so I have booked the printer on that calendar event.
I was just wondering if there are any rules or restrictions specific to the X1 carbons.
Also, are both machines operational?
Ah got it, no idea, I am not inducted on those…
@3dtechs can help…
Not a tech, but there was no specific rule about long prints in my induction, other than you need to be in the building for the whole print. Usually, if a print goes bad, it just wastes your own time and money instead of setting the whole space on fire, but there was an incident where a nozzle was damanged not too long ago, so get someone else to watch it if you need to nip out to the shops.
I try to avoid long prints, but I’ll try do it a quiet time. There’s 2 printers, so you can book a long time, but I recon it’s good manners to put in plenty of notice, and do it when the other printer is clear or used for short jobs. I can see there’s another long print that day, but there’s space before 1 or after 5 when someone can nip in for a quick print if they need it.
I think you have shutter, but for anyone who doesn’t and reads it, make sure to check with the people that do. It would suck to be 8 hours into a 9 hour print and have to abandon it because the person with shutter needs to close up. I’d be happy to hang around an hour or 2 for somone to finish the print, so long as they asked in plenty of time and I didn’t need to be somewhere.
I do use the pritners a fair bit, and I’ve not really seen any issues. Once or twice, people have been using them without a booking when I had one, which is annoying, but at least I was still able to do what I needed.
Thank you so much.
Yes I do have shutter access.
And the print time needed is about 2 hours, I panic booked a longer slot while waiting to know more about the rules, I will amend the booking.
Oh yeah, 2 hours is what I’d consider fairly normal and fair use of the tool you pay your membership for. I’d book 3 hours, to account for anything going wrong.
@stefanoromano check that you have tool control access, I have done induction more than an year ago and last time I’ve tried the access was removed (probably this was done because my induction was on the old 3d printer). Didn’t sorted this out yet…
Thank you mate, I have done plenty of printing, relatively often.
But it has always been for the space, and with no deadline.
This time I have a guest over, and I need to make reasonably sure it goes smoothly.
On that note, does anyone know if we have PETG basic available in stock?
Or could someone check for me, please? (black preferred, but I’m open-minded)
There were about 4, maybe 5 spools of regular PETG, 2 transparent last time I checked. I think. Can’t remember the colors though.
Had a check.
2 PETG-HF, one black mostly full, one yellow, mostly full.
2 PETG-translucent, one clear, mostly full, one green tint, half used
1 PETG-CF , black, unopened
0 PETG-basic
I’m about 95% sure PETG-HF is pretty much basic and can be used for anything basic can be. There’s no entry for it in the shop, I’d assume just putting it in as basic would be fine. Translucent has the same price as basic. Even the CF spool is the same price, but it’s marked as no AMS, so a little more faff to use.
Thank you for checking!
Yep, checked, PETGH-HF is the newer version of basic. It’s the same price and use case, just prints a bit faster.
We should probably update the shop, as you can’t buy the old basic anymore.
Hi @stefanoromano,
There is no PETG basic, Bambu has stopped making it. We have PETG-HF and PETG-CF in black. Both are opened so you may want to put them in the dryer before printing.
are both machines operational?
Yes they are. Both have recently been cleaned out and calibrated.
