3D model prep for printing help

Hello,

I am in the process of arranging a world record attempt. We are looking to break a 10 year old record of a model rocket car. I have all the information from GWR and have been working on the logistics and designs. I’ve sorted the rockets, launch system and begun working on the timing station (Using a micro:bit)

I have used AI to create some 3D designs that I am hoping to print in the next few weeks. I’ve completed my induction and got familiar with the machines at the space.

Is there anyone that would be willing to take a look at the 3D files before I send them to print? AI has built them but I’d love someone who knows what they are looking at to give them a human eyes view. Especially as there are a few tricky bits around lattice designs to reduce weight..etc.

No need to attend the space, but I’m happy to meet there, I can also send all designs over.

hi chris, ive got some experience with 3D printing and CAD design, so im happy to have a look if you can send over the files (ideally as a STEP file), what software did you use to make the designs? also, do you have an idea of what material youll be printing them out of?

That’s brilliant, thank-you. I’ll send over in the next week or so, do you have an email (You can DM me it)? I can ask for a STEP file, I used Claude mostly. I’m open on materials but just the normal stuff that is there is probably fine to start with. Open to suggestions of course.
