So I’m trying to make some templates that I can print out and then cut out for a project I’m doing (before anyone asks, no it wouldn’t work with the laser cutter, and the cnc would be overkill!). I know that programs for doing that exist, but a designer I am not so I have no experience with them. What are the ones we have at the space, and are those recommended for beginner usage/available for free at home, by any chance?

Inkscape for free and open source, Illustrator for paid. If you want to use illustrator, it’s on the laser PC.
There’s Inkscape (free and open source, but a bit of a learning curve), we have Adobe Illustrator installed on the laser pc, or Affinity Designer on the laser PC and the M1 Mac in the clean room.
