2018 Badges first picture

I spy with my little eyes…an USB type C.

I thought the shielded module would be an esp32 but is not , is more likely a GSM module , there is a sim card slot on it’s side and a big fat chip in the center… Arduino Due compatible?

There is clearly an LCD connector as well , aso , that part is sorted.

I found some source code:

I don’t know if they realised is public, im looking into it but there is a DFU loader.
It’s an ARM.

Right , people , that’s my bet on the badge:

Runs micropython.
Same display of the last year.
Hall sensor, temperature sensor and mosfet output .
GSM modem.
cc3200 wifi module.

And my wild guess on the mcu:

big fat SAM3X8E ARM Cortex-M3 running at 84 mhz.

We are going to have the most advanced badge in the world.

Take that DEFCON !:stuck_out_tongue:

Mentioned it elsewhere but we could add wireless charging at the very least.
Ive been playing with the generic QI charging bits and pieces.
You can get a plug in receiver for a couple of quid and bare charging pcb’s and coils for about the same.
I was mucking around with a badgy with them but theres no reason they shouldnt work with the emfcamp badge.
