19"x38" poster frame

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re having a great Sunday!
I’m looking to make a simple custom frame for a 19"x38" poster.
I haven’t done any woodwork since I was 10 probably (elementary school class).

Any ideas how I would go about it?
Do I need to be inducted to woodworking tools?
What materials would I need for the simplest possible proof of concept?

Cheers,
Ledio

Hi there.

A simple frame? I would probably see 8f 8 could buy a pre-formed timber frame in 3m (or so) lengths. Then cut them down with a miter saw or framing press and glue- and-pin them.

Yes, for thus you would need the basic woodshop induction.

If you wanted to form your own frame beads, you would probably also need to use the ability router table - that’s another follow-up induction to above.

If you wanted to star5 at rough-cut timber, you would need all the above plus the bandsaw induction (for rough processing) and maybe the planer/drum sander depending on the stock size?

Good luck with this, sounds like a great project!
