1/2 inch router has bit stuck in chuck

Despite @joeatkin2 's best efforts I have somehow jammed another bit in the router, or at least I cannot remove it. On Friday the same problem occurred, which Joe assured me was due not to my negligence (he may have been being kind) but the fact that there was a non-Hitachi collet in the box . So we removed the offending collet. But yesterday, reasoning that the remaining 1/2 collet was the correct Hitachi one (it was the only 1/2 inch

collet there) I inserted a roundoff bit and once again was unable to remove it. I could unscrew the chuck but the bit and collet seem firmly stuck in there (see photo). Fearing that any further attempt to remove the bit could result in damage to the bit, chuck, collet or all three I left it as it was in the woodshop and put a sign on it.

In my defence, I DID succeed in aralditing @joeatkin2 's home-brew wooden router screw as instructed (see photo).

I will deal with it when I am back unless @lewisss gets there first :grinning:

It’s done, … another reason why router inductions need to be rollled out .

The router bit was inserted past the k Mark which caused it to get stuck ,

Is the colet ok ?

That is odd because I made this mistake once before (as Mark will recall)
so I am especially careful about the K mark. I could have got it wrong
though, I dunno.

Don’t worry I will buy a new colet in the new year
