Zebrano first project Vape Stand/tidy

well being a woodtech has its benefits, thank you to @afshind and @rosszeibari for gifting me some Zebrano from the massive delivery earlier in the week.

so here is the first little project done earlier today.

after thicknessing and jointing.
two pieces doweled and joined together.
planes down fairly well . irregular grain does mean there is some tearout similar to working with wenge
it also smell a bit like washing that has been left damp for 4 days!

Beautiful!

Wait I didn’t ask earlier … why did you need to drill inside the circular recesses?

Looks like the mouthpieces have a pipe that slots into the hole on the top of the vape unit. Assume it’s to accommodate that pipe when storing the detached mouthpieces.

Looks really nice @lewisss. Will have to pick your brains for tips on how to work with the wood. Also, what oil have you used there? Love how rich the grain has gone.

Nice one Mark, looks lovely.
