What should I use to oil plywood?

I have laser cut out some mats out of plywood, engraved. I need to finish them, so do I use some kind of oil? If so, what oil should I use? I don’t want to lose the colour so something as clear as possible I think would be best.

Is there anything in the space I can use? Or would the local hardware shop stock it?

I’ve never done this so not 100% sure what I’m doing :slight_smile:

Anything oil based will make the colour more yellow.

Try mat water based varnish, might want to test it in a piece of scrap first though.

There should be a tin of this somewhere in the space (I left it there). Quite where is another question
