We’ve been approached by a company that would like to hire our space until 6pm on Wednesday 9th September for a staff event.
They would be paying for the use of the space.
Any objections to this plan?

Fine by me so long as nobody else was plannign to use the space that day
Would they be using the machine (laser cutter/3dprinter etc …) ?
They just need a room to hold a meeting (the organisation is 38degrees by the way)
They’ve literally just got back to us to say the event has been postponed, however. They might come back to us in the future.
Ah ok no problem
If there are no objections we’ll see what the new date is…
Would someone need to be there to let them in/supervise during the meeting/lock up afterwards?
Who is the company? No danger that they might not be in line with our general philosophy?
Definitely in favour of any income that can offset rent unless it causes more problems than it’s worth.
Given that the deal for members is that we can use the space any time, the withdrawal of that use for other commercial purposes should have some benefit for members. I’d be more in favour of letting it out, as suggested, if there was a sweetener, like “they are going to be paying such-and-such and we’ll be using that money to acquire [insert name of wonderfully desirable thing for members’ use]”
They are offering some money yes, not a huge amount because we’re not the most attractive of venues right now given the half finished state of construction, and lack of facilities.
As above its 38 degrees who are fine.
As for we’re going to use it for XYZ… We have not made plans on how to spend this but they money will be put into the main account and uses as usual towards what ever it’s needed for…
It’s not substanical enough to be worth saying we’ll buy tool xyz…
