Semi-related: does anybody know where to get card which is a different colour on one side?
I’ve seen greetings card made with this, but can’t source any for the life of me. I can’t find it in the typical online places search comes up with, and don’t know what the term of art is. I’m sure the process is to just stick coloured paper to a sheet of card, but I’m also pretty sure this has to be done at the factory as the lamination survives folds etc. in the cards I’ve seen.
Well that’s the back-up plan. But the result doesn’t cut and fold as-one. I think some kind of press to really squish the two layers into one is needed.
It is normally called 2-ply / 3-ply and it’s used in things like business cards, but I am not sure it’s readily available, it may be that it’s part of the finishing process to laminate them together, however you might try calling GF Smith for advice as they are the most likely to know.
I’ve never seen 2 side colour paper! Anywhere over the years. It may well be a feature of final printing. Try AZO http://www.azoprint.com/ for advice, they’re good.
Thanks for all replies. The annual Harris christmas card effort didn’t end up stretching to a glorious two-colour design, in the end. But I’m damn keen on getting that heat press going properly to properly laminate some paper onto card (and do lots of vinyl-cut fabric transfers…).
a second for GF Smith paper they do infact manufacture the kind your talking about, I think it’s from their ‘colourplan’ range? Been a few years so don’t quote me and it won’t be cheap but am them for a sample book.
