Worked on it last night 4A at 24v gives a 6 second stop .
Transformers , switch mode or phase angle firing is the only question left.
This is going to be as simple as we thought
Am looking for a overload relay at the right price at the moment and some transformers also at the right price because that is the quickest option but if you are up for doing 415v switch mode that will be interesting
You tried this on the table saw?
Yes it works a treat
Nice work!
Great news…
My vote would be a good old transformer for the power source !
Are we going to do a basic process controller that does Start, Stop and brake or are we doing it with basic switching and physical contactors ?
Courty
You need a controller of some sort, cos you need a 1/2 second gap between power-off and applying the brake to allow the motor fields to die down.
Also, I imagine things like rapid on-off cycling would be damaging to the system? The off-the-peg systems vary in complexity when it comes to this sort of thing.
Alright mostly done.
But then deleted the pcb because I have sausage fingers. …
In a combination of realy logic and pic .
So how about we breadboard some simple software controlled buck converters and see how it works so we can have a closed loop soft start to the braking and a confirmation when the blade stops
I can’t upload videos, here so some you tubing will be required, but there is video of the break working and it works a treat.
Transformers types are bullet proof .
But we need it to be smart so it is flexible enough for the bandsaw
Nice!
Solvent or abrasive? Or both?
“Bridge to Engine Room: Full Ahead Shower!”
“Aye Aye Captain!”
Abrasives. Needs a really good going over with a buffing wheel now I think and there are a few spots that need more work because I wore the scratchy guy i was using on it out.
Looks lovely, needs a few washers here and there IIRC…
Found it in a garden years ago…
If we can find a hose and a shower head it could be really useful for screen printing
We need to come up with a way to mount these, but I was vaguely planning on giving the sink some plumbing attention either tonight or tomorrow, depending on how late I end up at work today.
well done Joe et al, great work
I have an ex-electric shower head and hose if it’s any use?
