This is why the Lathe and loose clothes don't mix

Something the @lathetechs warn you could happen:

Granted, we don’t have something as powerful… but the point stands!

ew, i wish you didnt post this.

I kind of want to create a library of these for use in inductions, to emphasise that we’re not kidding around.

Wo. Oddly it looks like the tightening of the clothes did the damage.
Thanks* for sharing ;0

I think we do in the metalwork area!

True! I forget we have that big beast of a metal lathe. Was only thinking of our wood lathe.

You could make a little kiosk showing them on loop and call it ‘the snuff box’

We might also ask if the first helper responded correctly. He fruitlessly tries to grab the guy and to try to either snap the rod or pull it out of the chuck. While doing this he renders himself unable to hit the emergency stop. He is instead looking around for someone else to come and do it. The machine does stop fairly rapidly once someone does press it. It seems the net result of the efforts of the man in overalls was to prolong the victim’s agony. I think in the first instance he should have stopped the machine before attempting anything else.

The really drastic risks I want to educate people on are things like degloving… Possibly not!

@electronoob you definitely do not want to youtube search degloving

We had a person with a degloved ‘appendage’ once. Very vague history. Do not google this.
