Private message with Dermot tested as well @dermotjones42 sent the same reply back on his phone twice and said he wouldn’t have had any idea that he got a message if it wasn’t for the fact that I messaged him in slack and told him

so there should be notification emails if you’re not logged in at the time. If they’re not coming through then I’ve got a setting wrong. Let me check.

Hmm. My testing seems to work. If I’m not logged in, then I get a notification email.

@dermotjones42 did you get this notification that I used your name?

I see it if I have the app on screen.

That’ll be the on-site notifications. You should get an email if you’re not on the site. I’m going to dial-down the wait period to allow for quicker testing.

I suppose the notification emails might be going to your spam folder…

There’s also a “do not suppress email notifications when I’m on the site” setting in your profile preferences.

Testing! Seems very snazzy so far.

I’ve just bumped you up to Member, which gives you a few more forums to post in.

Thanks! Initial impressions are good - potentially better organised than Slack, but without the clunkiness of G groups. I like!

Have a go at editing some wiki posts in the Documentation section

You can even reply to threads by replying to the email notifications. Like
I’m doing now.
I wonder if this supports attachments?

Why, yes it does

Tried to reply, it said I needed to be logged in although I already was. Logged out and back in, let’s see if it wants to play ball now. And will this @MARKSE cause an email notification?

Can definitely edit “wiki” pages!

I’m finding Discourse a bit messy and confusing at the moment. But I’ll give it some time…

There is plenty of scope for changing the layout etc. so if you’ve got detailed feedback let me know and I’ll whip the CSS monkeys

I’m mostly basing my opinion on the mobile website which is where I mostly accessed Slack. I should probably play more on the desktop version…

@Slack can you hear me?
