MDF and dividing wall 2nd coat of filler finished
[finished sanding]
Not going to make it down today…a bit wiped out…
Personal view point:
Whilst we do have an extension to the delivery date with the GLA there is the deadline of May 28th which is looming, I am worried we’ve all become a bit tired and lost motivation, I’ve found this myself this last week working on the membership system.
What can we do to rejuvenate energy in the project, we are so close to finishing there are a few things like painting the walls, floor, and fitting doors that need doing, plus some work in the front and ventilation.
Any suggestions to get this push for completion by our grand opening?
This week I think I’ll skip the community garden in Tuesday.
Think I’ll come down Tuesday and Wednesday all day and get everything out of the dirty room in preparation for sanding the floor.
joe suggested trying to sort things out as well as we move rooms to “sort” everything.
Then maybe this weekend have another floor party in the “chop shop” /dirty room.
I would again have a seriously good look at what in that pile of wood needs to go. We should then actually get rid of some stuff
I would say we need to clear the floor of the dusty side for sweeping, sanding and sealing. We should probably give everything that we move between workshops a vacuum as well, not just the floors.
We need to throw out some junk, probably, and use up any leftover building materials if they are earmarked for something in the space (else get rid of them/give them away?).
A decision needs to be made about the finish of the block wall on the Phase I side, and whatever finish is decided needs to go on the wall, whether that’s render, plaster, more ply or whatever. The doors between dusty and messy need to go in, probably after the dusty floor has been sealed. The detail of the sink in the messy workshop needs to be decided upon, and it needs to be plumbed in, so the MDF panels on the northern wall can be finished.
And then…?
It would be good for us to perhaps actually also get the front wood down and varnished relatively soon so we don’t have loads of interruptions after this, is it worth getting the wood and paint for the front floor?
It was decided in a trustees meeting to use the ply we bought months ago to finish that as on the left hand side and Osmo Oil (not Osmo Polyx) the wall as with the front.
