Hi all guys!
Just a question, how it works if some tools need spare parts?
For example the hitachi router owned by the space needs a new collet, I think that is not anyone fault but it weared off and now is almost impossible to take out the bit whitout an hammer 
And it’s becoming dangerous as well because you never now if it’s tight enough before using it (I had a look online and it seems to be a common problem for a design mistake).
The space can replace it or members need to buy one?
Which kind or agreement do we have with Hitachi? Is possible to order the spare parts directly from them?

This is the sort of thing our membership fees are supposed to cover. If you can identify the part and get one ordered, SLMS will reimburse you.
This should be proposed towards trustees prior before we land up with someone ordering solid gold drill bits

A quick google shows plenty of replacement parts available around the £20-30 mark
