South London Makerspace Gallery

Morning all,

I wanted to start a gallery of all the super cool items that pass through the maker space doors . The idea is to celebrate the making happening in the makerspace and showcase the possibilities of what can be created in a makerspace.

This will officially be the gallery thread. Feel free to upload pictures of your making projects in progress or completed projects to this post, along with a description of the function of the project, tools and materials used in the creation. With your consent some of the pictures may feature on the Makerspace IG | FB | Twitter page.

We also have photography equipment at the space minus the camera, and I would be happy to come along to take some pictures with my DSLR.

This is a gallery only thread. If possible I will be disabling comments, but you are encouraged toike any pictures that you see. Please send a direct message to the maker if you are interested in connecting to make a similar item.

Morning to you too.

So I have two projects to contribute…
The Owlett, a talking camera designed to help the blind around the house. I built it with heavy use of the space’s laser cutter, and I’m currently trying to turn it into a commercial product.

And the Deadman, a handheld tool that beeps if held for too long, designed to help speed up stand up meetings.

I have the space to thank for both of these projects, I couldn’t have finished them without it.

I recently created this market display frame using mostly off cuts found on the bath estate. Still needs some work, but it’s a start. Laser cut the sign and leather tabs to old sign and purses. A small amount of wood shop cutting down wood and creating seats for tube to sit in. Copper cut using tube cutter. I needed something light weight to carry and something that could resembled and adjusting when working at markets where the space either smaller or when sharing with another trader.

Inspired by my stamped business cards a friend who also has jewellery business ask me to create a stamp for her that she could use on all her packaging. This was laser engraved to create a wood block.
