Someone left a (non Makerspace) glue gun on all night | Sat 7th March 2020

Please ensure you switch everything off and make the areas safe when you finish your session at the Space

Two important issues here:

  • a potential fire hazard
  • the glue gun was not fitted with a UK plug and instead seems to have a Chinese ‘death plug’ fitted. Please don’t bring dangerous gear into our Space!

Not Chinese ‘death plug’ but normal euro 2 pin however it was apparently shoved into a 13A socket.
Dangerous to leave it on all night whatever kind of plug.

Thanks – how was the earth pin overridden?

P.S. we still have working glue guns?

Don’t know, Brian unplugged it. I think we have quite a few working glue guns with 13A plugs

if someone restart their own nervus system I’m not worried…

Hi all, it was a two pronged rounded plug shoved in hard so they splayed at an angle with no earth so it was highly dangerous and would cause internal arking to the plug.
