So...I bought an electric van...let's see how that goes

Yep. Gone and turned my back on fossil fuels and taken on the challenge of a Nissan e-NV200.

It’s got a range of 70-80 miles on a full charge, and looks like it takes a minimum of 8 hours to reach full charge. So there’s some clear challenges ahead. I’ve started a new Twitter account @ElectricVanMan where I’ll chronicle my experiences.

Once it’s out of warranty I might look at upgrading the battery/charging system: although you always have to consider the insurance aspect when you make mods to vehicles.

Picking up the van next Wednesday…let the range anxiety commence!

8 hours on a 32 amp home circuit? You can get something beefier installed maybe?

The charging circuit in the van is only 3.3kW, so that’s the bottleneck. 12 hours on a 13A socket…
