Snug lights

Hello,

The lights in the snug don’t seem to work properly. I am not sure how or why, but the last 2 fittings towards metal are basically constantly off, making the infrastructure shelves and the area where the new band saw is, constantly in the shade and with not enough light.

I’m happy to help with wiring or what not, but I would like to understand what is happening before tampering with it.

I believe @lewisss has control of them?
Or maybe @danielbenton ?

If that is true, how do you control them? With an app?

If it is via an app, could I have access to the log in for it? So I can control them too?

Please if anyone knows, can you let me know?

The lights are controlled by 3x DIN rail relay packs in the wood shop, there’s documentation I wrote on this somewhere on Discourse.

The system was specified and installed by Joe and Mark (AFAIK), but I’m mostly the one trying to look after it now as I believe Mark is leaving the UK permanently any day now.

I think it has to be one of the directors who decides to give you the password, the risk of sharing it more widely is that people can remotely turn the lights on and off for the workshops which would be extremely dangerous.

From what I can see, it looks like not all the lights are on and the physical changes in the space probably haven’t kept up with the strings of lights:

I’m guessing it’s 1.3 that you are missing, I’ve just turned it on, if not let me know and I can turn on 1.4, these should be mapped on switches.

I’m not in the space right now, so I can not confirm.

I think the one that is misbehaving is 3.4 but some lights in the snug are on almost all the time while the last 2 (above compressor and above bandsaw) are off all the time.

Sounds like a mismatch in the actual electrical connections.

Regardless those info are very useful thank you for that.

I will be in tomorrow evening, if you are free I could drop you a message and we can do some real time testing?

Understandable re the log in details, I’m not fussed about it, as long as we have lights I don’t NEED to be able to control them!

Yeah, you have my number, just text me as I don’t always pay attention to Discourse if I’ve got something else going on.

The sensor in the snug is not connecting

is that something i can help fixing?

It is 3.4

Half of the sensors have gone missing, the one in the snug (by messy room/snug door) was the last one to control those lights.
They are the only ones not switched.
I can add them to one of the switches in the metal area if you want

YES PLEASE!!!

If I can choose, can I have them on the 1.4 welding?

Thank you so much

So do you want them to turn on and off when 1.4 welding is turned off?

Yes, if it’s possible.

I am not that fussed on what switch controls them as long as I know, and I am able to turn them on.

All done, give it a try when you are there and let me know it works

I will later this evening!

Thank you for your help!
