Chanelle and I were talking about printing and moveable type, and whether there was any interest in running a type jam day in the space?
I have plans to make a proofing press from an old fire extinguisher, and use it with wooden type/laser cut plates/whatever I can get my hands on.
Anyone else got any interest in this?
Interest here. I keep meaning to come and just actually work out what the state of all of our print stuff is anyway.
Definitely interested in this. I am also interested in screen printing (I used to have a super lo-fi setup at home, including an exposure unit made from a garden lamp and Argos clothes rail). Would be super happy to get involved setting up screen printing stuff if it exists…
Type could be fun – but I’m a lot more interested in being introduced to the screen printing area and gear in general, and a basic how-to!
I’ve always thought that properly printed business cards would be good for a blacksmith, so yes - interested!
Surely etched cast-iron ones would be better, no?
