We can’t do Saturdays generally sabrina has orchestra and I gcse math but Sunday be awesome!

the post is a wiki and anyone can join as a competing baker. (cake baking maker)

What about ingredients do we bring them in? And how many ovens is there?

If there’s a BBQ I’d be up for doing one of the old fashioned winter BBQs we were doing back in the old days.

So I’d rather do a bake-off, people bringing cakes so hoping there will be some appetite for people to sign up as such. But If not we can build a cake at the space? We have one smal home l and one industrial oven.

Few questions:

What time on Sunday?
Are our extended families invited: partners, kids 15 and under, 16+?
How many people we expecting?
Plan B if it rains?
We ok to take over the ally outside the maker space?
Do we have a people limit at the space?
Is alcohol permitted on premise?
How do we fund this party?

Hi Dorine.
Typically it is member funded, members bring the food and drinks.
Guests are welcome.
Alcohol is allowed, but strictly no making while drinking.
As many people as arrives.
I’d not worry about people limit, but fire safety was around 50 before Arch2 open.
If it rains we go inside.

Noone signed up as another baker so I am not certain if the bake off will go ahead. The bbq certainly will.

Should there be a desire for a BBQ, we’d need:

  1. A BBQ + tongs, at least 2
  2. Consumables and food from Directors
  3. 2x small table to put next to the BBQ, 1 for raw, 1 for cooked

Consumables:

  • Coal + fire starter
  • Ketchup
  • Mayo
  • Mustard
  • Buns
  • Burgers
  • Sausages
  • Cheese slices
  • Kitchen paper
  • Paper plates

Nice to have:

  • Salad
  • Onions
  • Other meats and non-meats

What about pork and beef? Hate turkey, can’t eat venison and that leaves only chicken.

I get some of my meat from Pipers farm, not organic but free range that said Β£50 on free range don’t buy you much.

Can we maybe have an β€œother” text box so people have a choice please?

Cooking poultry increases the food safety risk over beef and pork too.

My plan was to go to Sainsbury’s and buy some options based on what is available like we used to.

Well maybe not Sainsbury they are really expensive, Tesco or Lidl have a better price point

It’s actually the opposite! But choices added. Pork and beef has the higherst chance of containing parasites as far as I know :skull_and_crossbones:

Cost Β£27.25 plus deliver for this free range https://pipersfarm.com/products/sausage-taster-box just give an idea of how much free range costs

that looks fantastic?

Can we charge Β£5 per person attending as an idea?
