Today I used my shooting plane and the 90 degree fence which I made with this project in mind. I started making tools for this project years ago
I wasn’t sure if I would be able to take such a wide shaving but it worked great. I didn’t bother dialing in the 90. I simply took shavings until the edge was at a uniform angle down the length then I made a correcting stroke, freehand. Making the shooting plane was money in the bank, I have used it in every single project since the day I made it. Normally I use it on the shooting board but I will be able to use the fence too now I have a proper bench. .
