I would recommend against using Arduino.orgs IDE, use the Arduino.cc one.

The new CC version is at https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software and at the time of writing is version 1.6.12

.org are the baddies…

In reality .org are the hardware guys and .cc the software. .org’s ide is a spur off the .cc one and the .cc one has greater support for non-Arduino hardware.
