So I know nothing about lathes, but I was at open studios the other day near elephant and castle.
One of the studios had a myford super 7 (i think it was) for sale with cabinet basae, for £2300.
Just thought I’d post, lady said it was in working order
Lovely lovely machines.
We don’t have £2,300
(or much space, really)
In a hushed and almost inaudible tone: pledge?
That’s not a bad price for a lovely lathe - if it’s in good condition and has some accessories.
yeah, figured, i just found a picture of a guy coiled around the bit of a
lathe as well and its put me off
This would be perfect for phase 4
i would hazard a guess and say its not going to be sold anytime soon,
it was in the studio of some fairly laid back jewellers who weren’t using it,
and we could prob get the price down??
Again going to say this is nice but we have no where for a metal workshop.
Also still maintain we should get our current house in order before piling in more stuff.
Good find though.
Myfords are some what over sold. A high price for what is an old fashioned design. The beds on them wear really badly. You can get lots of accessories but prepare to sell your house.
You would be better off with something like a Harrison M250 or M300, secondhand market is full of them.
SPACE?! I think rather than cash is the elephant in the room
