My eyes can't go that small

The postman brought me a box from eBay today that contained some reel ends of surface components…

When we were playing with the hot air surface soldering last night @joeatkin2 was saying that he normally solders surface components with an conventional soldering iron… Got me thinking. Who’s up for trying these both by hand and hot air ?

There are 4 resistors in this picture below the vero board . A standard 1/4w version, a surface mount 1206, a 0805 and the little speck of dust at the bottom is an 0402 10k resistor ?!

Not sure about the 0402 size, can hardly see it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I have read reports of 0402s being done with a soldering iron, one pad first to fix component then the other, then heating the board in the end to distribute tensions.

As for the 0201 (I don’t see one on the photo though it may well be there!), apparently these can be easily/accidentally inhaled…
