Makerspace : Robot Sumo competition

I would like to organize a friendly , local , Robot Sumo competition.

For who doesn’t know what a Robot Sumo competition is , here is the Wikipedia introduction :

“Robot-sumo, or pepe-sumo, is a sport in which two robots attempt to push each other out of a circle (in a similar fashion to the sport of sumo). The robots used in this competition are called sumobots.”

The idea is to have a maximum weight and dimensions for the Robots (Mini-sumo, Up to 500 g mass, 10 cm by 10 cm, any height ? ) , a black and white circular arena and the last Robot inside the white circle is teh winner.

What do you people think?
We could run a day for charity as well!

Sounds great! Does the 10cm include mechanical protrusions? As in, can I have 10 cm body and a10cm bar / pusher thingy fire out and still qualify as legal?

Yes , usually 10 cm is the maximum total dimension of the entire robot
