Looks very nice indeed.
Hats off to Conor and Jessie for pushing on a quality sanded finish!
And Paul and Jessie for coming in early on a Sunday.
And all who donned dust masks and ear defenders and blue overshoes…
It’s a beautiful day out there so a perfect time for everyone to take a day off.
Just be sure to be back at the space at 7pm tonight for a 7.30 start…I myself can’t make it…
Oooo, very nice !!

How’s the quantity of oil looking? The dusty workshop is smaller so needs less than messy.
Now it’s oiled does it need a buff or something to finish it or is it just done.
I’ve seen floors where rolling heavy stuff like the laser cutter across when they claimed it was dry left marks on the floor that didn’t come up.
When we got there this morning the floor was a little tacky. And that had dried for +10hrs. Think they laid it on abit thick last night. It suggests thin coats on porous surfaces, especially for the first coat. Whoever goes in this evening gauge it weather to leave or continue emptying the workshop. The second coat was thinner than the 1st though
We have about 2.4 litres left.
So that’s just under one big can left.
Think we’ll need some more.
It’s a smaller workshop, and as Jessie mentioned, it may have gone on a bit thick?
True true
Also looks like there is some work needed to get the area by the front cleaned up again as it’s got footprints on it and then varnished as this got missed by the looks of it.
The can says that the 8-10 hour drying time is based on 50% humidity and 23 degrees celsius. Colder and more humid (both conditions are present) increases the drying time. There is also a lack of ventilation in the workshop, because we closed all the doors.
I was one of the people applying the oil last night. For my own part, I was making every effort to spread it as thinly as possible, using a lot of force to spread it out. I think I put it on about as thinly as was possible with the floor varnish brush when applied neat from the can. We could possibly attempt to thin the oil with white spirit before applying it to the dusty workshop floor, if we do a test first. Osmo Polyx oils already have white spirit in them.
On the tin it say in capitol letters DO NOT THIN!
In order to get the anti slip rating it needs to be done properly
