I’m looking to make two or more laser engraved tap handles for my kegerator. Right now I have two concepts I’m floating
Create laser cut ply cutouts and glue to a large wood block to give it an engraved look
Laser engrave a larger complete tap handle a few mm deep to get a more finished look.
@lasertechs can we engrave solid wood? If not, I will go with the first concept.

Avoid using resinous softwoods, and you’re all good. I’d imagine you’d want an attractive hardwood for this anyway.
Also bear in mind that we do have a rotary attachement, which requires a bit of setting up but will let you engrave on cylindrical/conical surfaces.

Awesome. I heard about the rotary attachment but I think for the first two I’m going to go with a tapered flat surface. Thinking of doing some oak with two different stains or possible painting the engraved section.
