Laser cutter out of service - 18/10/17 smoke in Messy Room

@lasertechs the Messy workshop was uncomfortably full of smoke this evening.

@StudioNelle used it yesterday and it was fine.

I think it needs to be put it out of action – you don’t want to be breathing smoke. Could have been atmospheric conditions blowing smoke back in? As when I first looked outside there was no smoke coming from the vent, then later there was: so not a blockage. Possibly a leak?

@lewisss you have experience of the extraction system, @joeatkin2, you built most of it?

I wheeled it forward and the hose connection on the back was quite loose – have swaddled it in gaffer tape. So if someone wants to test it tomorrow? However: please take extreme care.

Fan sound could be heard.

Turns out the main fan doesn’t work when it’s unplugged.

Who’d have known?
